With the tax form package comes an envelope on which is mentioned the address to which the individual has to post the filled form. If the individual does not have such an envelope, he/she can directly post it at the Internal Revenue Service Center of his/her state.
An individual has to fill Form1040 for tax return and in case the individual is single or joint without any dependents, he can fill Form1040EZ, which a smaller version of Form1040.
IRS tax return extension: There is one provision for those individuals who can not file the tax now and want to postpone the tax returns. An individual can extend his tax return date by filling Form4868, which extends the tax return date by six months. However, if the individual fails to pay the tax after the due date, a penalty and interest rate will be charged on the individual.
IRS Installment Plan: In case an individual can not pay his full tax by the due date, he can take the advantage of IRS Installment Plan. For this the individual has to fill Form 9465 to request for the installment program.
Record Keeping Form: It is important to keep the details of your past three years income tax returns. If an individual for some reason needs the information about his earlier tax returns, he can obtain this information on the fee basis by filling form 4506.
